Common Paddle-Boarding Questions

At Beach Water Sports, we offer all types of recreational experiences along the Florida coast. You can enjoy the thrill of jet skiing, zipping along the shore and crashing through waves, or you can cast a line off one of our fishing boats. However, one of our favorite rentals that we like to recommend to our out-of-town guests is paddle boarding.

What is paddle boarding?

A paddle board is a hybrid water sport that marries kayaking and surfing. It was born out of a technique that surfers once used for training. The great thing about paddle boards (also called stand-up paddle boards, or SUPs) is that it’s a water sport that all ages can enjoy.

What are the benefits?

The main reason we love stand-up paddle boarding is the overall experience. You get to enjoy a relatively serene and easy-to-learn water sport, cruising along the Palm Beach shoreline, while also enjoying the fitness benefits. Because you’re also simultaneously looking for wildlife or doing a little people watching, you hardly notice that you’re getting exercise. If you’ve never been paddle boarding before, you will definitely want to give it a try.

Can we make a group reservation?

While paddle boarding is usually a one-person-per-board kind of sport, nothing is stopping you and your friends or family members from enjoying your SUPs together. However, we do recommend that you call us ahead of time to verify that we will have the number of paddle boards you need to accommodate your group.

How do I make a reservation?

If you’re ready to reserve your SUP from Beach Water Sports, then all you have to do is contact one of our locations at 561-745-6900 (Jupiter) or 772-225-2000 (Stuart). Our staff would be glad to answer all your questions about paddle boarding and go over our rental policies and rates. From there, you can make a reservation over the phone, or you can get a rental quote online at your convenience.
